Ensuring a safe working environment is of paramount importance to S Ewing and Sons Ltd. We have a comprehensive system to ensure the highest standards. Our staff receive continual training via external sources (CITB, etc) and in-house. We employ C-Chec to constantly review our Health & Safety Policy and to carry out regular site audits.
Our external consultants carry out all the training requirements for our site staff, to ensure everyone has the specific certification necessary for their role. 100% of the workforce are certified to CPCS and CSCS standards. All employees undergo Toolbox Talks at least once a week. All our Site Supervisors are First Aid trained and SSSTS certified. All our Site Managers are SMSTS certified. Additionally, many of our operatives have certification in many other specialist areas.
Communication from our workforce regarding safety is very important in maintaining and improving our safety culture. We particularly promote the use of Near Miss Reports to help prevent accidents. We employ a comprehensive site safety system to ensure we comply with all HSE regulations and S Ewing and Sons Company Policy. Our external safety consultant visits the site regularly to audit safety. Our Site Managers also audit site safety on a weekly basis. Our management team review all audits, safety reports and site incident records quarterly to review company policy and update statistics.
